“We live and love. If there is no love, we should not have lived.” When we see things around us
beyond what our eyes can barely see, greediness consumes the goodness that is
in the heart of every human being. If only we can detach ourselves to the pleasures
of this world, then, it is possible that there will be no more pains, no more
sufferings, and no more destruction to the innocent and pure hearts. We have
fooled ourselves that we are alive and yet our souls are tortured and distorted
by our selfish desires and discontentment. When we feel temporary happiness on
the comforts and luxuries we embrace, we need to listen to the beat of our
hearts and reflect if this is what we really need.
Billions of people have not lived the
kind of life that we have at the moment.
Those homeless who never have a good sleep at risky street are
unnoticed. Those hungry families who
struggle for a decent meal have never had a chance to taste the food that we serve
on our tables. Those whose lives are in misery because of broken relationships
and still haunted by the terror of their pasts are ignored. We have never stopped
thinking of ourselves. We have loved
ourselves too much that we have been spoiled and blinded by hypocrisy and
stupidity. Until when are we going to wake up from this sad and cruel reality? For most of us life is an unending quest of
fame, power and money- on who is going to live longer, on who is going to feel
fulfilled and on who is going to climb at the peak of success. We are already numb that is why we find it
difficult to feel and recognize their situations.
Our lives are interconnected to one
another. We just need to discover the invisible link that connects us to others.
Every single good or bad act affects and becomes a part of someone else’s life.
If we live with purpose, we will die with joy
and pride. We can always have a choice to live our lives not only in the way we
want it but rather in a way that we can give hope and reason for others to
live. Love by actions is life-changing. We can show this love to everyone if we
want to without reservations. Imagine a world filled with people who have sense
of love. It will be a place where peace and true joy reign. No more wasted
times and wasted lives. No more cries and agonies. No more shattered dreams and
lost souls. That only if we answer the
call to live and love.
